AS and A2 students from the Webber Independent School are rejoicing having received an impressive set of A-Level grades this morning. Many months of hard work and dedication have culminated in an astounding 96% of students achieving A*- E grades and 72% A*- C grades at A2 and 89% A*- E grades at AS level.
High flying Head Girl Tesni Williams was over the moon with her A in Media Studies and 2 B’s in Art and Design and English Literature and secured her position at the Goldsmiths University in London to study design. “I am totally buzzing,” she said “the interview process at my university was really challenging, but I am so happy I was able to make an impression and now coupled with the results I have received today I am guaranteed my place - I hope to go into graphic design or architecture as a career.”
Daniel Khan was also pretty speechless having achieved 2 B’s and a C - the exact results needed to pursue his dreams of becoming a sports correspondent for a major newspaper. Daniel will now progress to the University of Lincoln to study journalism and continue working on his blog which he set up during his studies as a means of expanding his knowledge of the industry. “Today is the happiest day of my life” he said.
Principal Sue Vig said, “Congratulations to all of our students collecting results today. They have spent many months working with their teachers, as well as incredibly hard independently, to ensure they maximise their potential and although there will have been challenges along the way, today they have triumphed. Good luck to our year 13’s progressing onto their universities of choice – I have no doubt you will continue to shine and make exceptional progress in your fields of study. And for our year 12’s they must now maintain the momentum to ensure this time next year they too are on top of the world.”
