The success of Webber Independents golfing super star continues to thrive into the summer season – Shamiso Hatchard 17 boasted an impressive 5 wins out of 6, was the leading team player for Bucks and awarded her first team county colours all in the short space of just a week (June 30th). The Bucks team as a whole also won the Midland South title (beating five other county teams in the process) and will now play in the National Finals in September.
A natural born talent with a handicap of just 4, Shamiso is highly regarded by peers, professionals, coaches and supporters as being one of the most promising female golfers, and last week was chief spectator at the final qualifying stage for the Open Championship held at Woburn as well as invited to the ladies European Tour event to work with some of the pros and participate in a PGA seminar on turning pro.
There is no rest for the sporting queen however as on the 14th July, she will be travelling down to Cornwall for the English Womens' Amateur event taking place 15-17 July. So although school may be nearly out for the summer holidays, Shamiso has many sporting accomplishments in her sights!
Principal Sue Vig said, “Shamiso’s continued success and ever increasing array of accolades are a very fitting reward for the commitment she shows not only to the green and her strict practise regime, but also to her studies and time in school. She is a shining example to all of our students and we wish her every success this summer with the tournaments and competitions she is part of!
